Our Kid Safety Promise
ooli is COPPA compliant. Here's exactly what that means for your family, in plain words.
On this website, today
Nine promises we keep right now
No ads. Ever.
Not a banner, not a pop-up, not a sneaky “sponsored” anything. Your kid sees games, and only games.
No trackers.
We don’t use third-party analytics or tracking tools, and we never sell or share anything about your family.
We don’t ask your kid who they are.
No accounts for kids. No names, emails, photos, voices or locations. Kids just tap Play.
Nothing is saved.
In the web games, progress lives in the browser while your kid plays and disappears when the tab closes.
Kids tap. They don’t type.
There’s no chat, no typing and no microphone in our games. Kids play by tapping pictures, letters and words.
The AI stays inside the game.
When Rex makes a story or a word puzzle, only the word or picture your kid tapped is sent, never anything personal. Rex follows kid-safe instructions we wrote, and if the AI hiccups he uses a story we wrote ahead.
Every AI word gets checked.
Before Rex says anything the AI made, it passes our kid-safety filter. If anything looks wrong, Rex uses a story we wrote ahead instead.
Your kid’s data never trains AI.
Nothing your kid does in our games is used to train any AI, ours or anyone else’s.
You’re in charge.
Have a question or a request about your family’s privacy? Our privacy policy explains everything and how to reach us.
In the ooli app
More promises that start with the app
The iPad and iPhone app is in beta. Everything above still holds there, plus these.
Their progress stays on the device until you say yes.
Your kid can play right away. Their creations and progress stay on the device until you make a parent account and agree to let us save them.
We keep the bare minimum.
A kid profile is a nickname and an age. No full names, photos, voice recordings, location or contacts.
Kids can’t type or chat.
There’s no open chat, no typing, no microphone and no talking to strangers. Their buddy only offers picture choices we wrote.
AI-made things wear foil.
Anything the AI made just for your kid carries a holographic foil sticker, so you always know what it made.
Grown-up stuff is behind a parent gate.
Buying, settings, links and your account all sit behind a question only a grown-up can answer.
You set the limits.
A daily limit and a bedtime for each kid. When time is up, Rex says goodnight, with no upsell.
You’re in charge of your data.
Delete a kid’s data or your whole account in the Parent Hub any time. When you delete your account, everything is gone within 30 days.
Rules grown-ups can check.
Kids are going to grow up with AI. We think the first AI they meet should be built just for them, with rules grown-ups can check. These promises are those rules, and we keep them.
What's COPPA?
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act is the US law that protects kids under 13 online. It says apps and sites for kids must collect as little as possible and put parents in control. We built ooli to follow it from day one, and we check ourselves against the FTC's rule and Apple's Kids Category rules.
