About ooli
Who is ooli for?
Kids aged 4 to 7, and the grown-ups who want their screen time to count. The games start with letters, sounds and counting to 5, and grow into spelling, adding and taking away, and planets.
When can we get it?
ooli is coming to iPad and iPhone. We're letting a small group of families try the beta first, a few at a time. Join the beta or ask us to email you the day it launches.
Until then, the early web versions of our games are free to play on this site.
Can my kids share one iPad?
Yes. Each kid gets their own profile with their own buddy, skill map, stickers and limits, up to 4 kids on one plan. Switching is a tap on the home screen.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Every game works without the internet, from stories and sounds that come with the app.
What about the games on this website?
They're the early versions we built first, and they stay free until the app launches. They don't adapt to your kid yet, and nothing is saved: progress disappears when the tab closes. The app versions are rebuilt from scratch.
Is there an Android version?
Not at launch. We're starting with iPad and iPhone. Tell us at support@playfulintelligence.co if you'd use one.
Learning
What does “plays at their level” mean?
Every answer your kid gives updates a map of small skills, like the sound of “sh” or counting to 10. The map is shared across games, so a letter learned in one game counts in the others.
Each round is built from that map: mostly what they're working on now, some spaced-out review of things that were shaky, and a few easy wins. The games aim for a sweet spot where your kid gets about 4 in 5 right. Your kid never sees a level, a score or a grade.
How does ooli use AI?
AI fills in templates we wrote, from picture cards your kid tapped. In Silly Story Builder it turns four picks into a short story for Rex to read. It also helps make fresh word lists and planet facts, which we check against our own fact sheet.
Every line is checked by our kid-safety filter before your kid hears it, and if anything fails, the game quietly uses something we wrote ahead. There's no open chat, and kids never type or talk to an AI. On devices with Apple Intelligence, stories are written on the device itself.
Safety and privacy
What do you know about my kid?
Only what the games need: a nickname you choose, an age (4, 5, 6 or 7+), their progress and skill map, and the things they make and earn. It stays on their device until you sign in and give consent.
We never ask for a real name, photo, birthday, voice or location, and we never sell or share it or use it for ads. You can see it, download it or delete it any time. Our privacy policy has every detail.
Is ooli COPPA compliant?
Yes. We built ooli to follow the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act from day one: we collect as little as possible, a parent gives consent before anything about a kid leaves the device, and parents can review and delete it. We check ourselves against the FTC's rule and Apple's Kids Category rules. Read our Kid Safety Promise.
Are there ads or in-app purchases?
No ads, ever, and nothing to buy inside the games: no coins, no gems, no extras. The only purchase is the family plan, and in the app it sits behind a grown-ups-only gate.
How do I delete our data?
Sign in to the Parent Hub and choose Privacy. You can delete one kid, take back consent, or delete your whole account. Or email support@playfulintelligence.co and we'll do it for you.
Screen time
Can I limit screen time?
Yes. In the Parent Hub you can set a daily limit for each kid (10, 20, 30, 45, 60minutes, or off) and a bedtime after which the games stay asleep. When time is up, Rex yawns, puts on his pyjamas and says goodnight. There's no upsell and no “just one more”.
Plans and billing
How much does it cost?
ooli is free to try: Silly Story Builder, Spelling Kitchen, Feeding Time, for 10 minutes a day, for one kid.
ooli Unlimited is $6.99 a month or $49.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan. It unlocks every game, with no daily cap (your own limits still apply), for up to 4 kids. See pricing.
How do I cancel?
Any time. If you subscribed in the App Store, open Settings on your iPad or iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions. If you subscribed on this website, sign in to the Parent Hub and choose Plan. You keep Unlimited until the end of the period you paid for.
